Air Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 50 lakh at Kannur Intl Airport, one held
Kannur, Jan 11 (UNI) Air Customs sleuths on Monday seized 973 grams of gold valued around Rs 50 lakh from a passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Dubai in an Air India flight.
Customs Joint Commissioner S Kishore-led team detained Sidhik of Kasaragod district in this connection.
The seized gold was in the compound form and was concealed in his underwear, Customs Superintendent N Raju said.

Jetstar is investigating after a woman claimed a box of cherries taken by the airline s Queenstown Airport check-in staff before a flight back to Auckland were subsequently eaten.
The woman, who does not want to be named, said she her sister and two nieces were about to board a flight on December 11 when staff said their carry-on luggage including the cherries was overweight. They took them off us and said they would dispose of them the next day.
